Yum Money Hound Review

Top water bass fishing can be some of the most exciting action you will ever have on the lake. When the fish are hitting the top, there is no better rush a fisherman can enjoy. The Yum money hound allows you to make the most of this exciting time on the lake, because it allows you to rig the lure in a weedless style. One of the most frustrating things about fishing the top is dealing with the grass and the lily pads.

Not only do you lose more lures, but you have to clean your hooks on just about every cast! If you would rather spend your time with your bait in the water and catching fish, then you need the Yum money hound.

While it is still a top water bass lure, the money hound is a soft plastic, which means you can rig a hook through the body of the lure and protect the hook tip from catching on under water weeds.

To do this you will need two things: a razor blade, and an EWG hook.

With the razor blade, cut carefully along the narrow bottom strip of the bait. Now rig the EWG hook through the nose, and back through the body where you cut it.

This does two things for you. The EWG is a wide gap hook, which will allow for better hook sets, and a better strike to catch ratio. Cutting along the bottom of the bait allows the hook to penetrate through the bait and into the lip of the fish much more easily.

You can still do well if you don't cut the bait, but the wide gap hook is absolutely essential.

Bass fishing is a whole lot easier when you can get your bait where the fish are hiding!
